This short course is designed to give you:
An understanding of cooking techniques and recipes and ingredients used in
Macrobiotic Cooking
An introduction to the workings of the concepts of yin and yang
Show how to put together a balanced meal using macrobiotic principles
It is hands on weekend with individual attention and include shore walk to
identify sea vegetables

SEAWEED WORKSHOPS
April 1st - 3rd, September 30th -October2nd
We run Seaweed Workshops at the time of the Spring Tide in April and
September
We run workshops over two days arriving on the evening ferry from
Rossaveal or Doolin
or by air with Aer Arann
Registration and Supper at;
THE FISHERMANS COTTAGE at 20.00
Accommodation is at SOUTH ARAN HOUSE
DAY 1 Breakfast is at 9am at FISHERMANS COTTAGE and the workshop commences
at 10am at SOUTH ARAN COTTAGE
It includes
Introduction to Cooking with Seaweed
Details of when and how seaweed is harvested
Walk along the shore to identify seaweeds
There is a packed lunch to have by the shore
Time off in the early afternoon to explore the Island
Afternoon session starts at 16.30 with
Cooking with Seaweed
Dinner is at 1900 followed by
Time off for the night
DAY2 starts with Breakfast at 9am followed by
Cooking with Seaweed
Lunch is at 13.00 with
Round up of the workshop at 14.30
Free Time until Ferry Departure

Price includes accommodation breakfast and evening meal. Workshop begins
Friday evening and finishes Sunday lunchtime and includes some free time
on Saturday to enjoy Island.

NOTES
Price includes 2 nights shared accommodation (2 people per room) breakfast
and evening meals. If you want to come on a weekend but do not wish to
avail of our accommodation a list of local accommodation will be provided
on request.
WEEKEND FORMAT
The weekend begins with registration on arrival on Friday evening. There
is a morning and evening session on Saturday. Saturday afternoon is free
for exploring the island! There is a morning session on Sunday and
programme ends Sunday lunchtime.

Bring along rainwear and outdoor clothing and footwear
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Course fees must be paid in full at least 4 weeks in advance in order
to guarantee a place
2. If a participant wishes to cancel a course, we will make a full refund
less deposit, provided that cancellation in writing reaches us no less
than four weeks prior to the start of the course.
3. South Aran Centre shall be under no liability whatsoever, for any loss,
injury, or damage to participants or their property, whether in respect of
any neglect, act or omission by the centre, its agents or employees.
4. South Aran Centre reserves the right to alter the timing or content of
any course, and to substitute any teacher or to cancel a course at any
time as dictated by unavoidable circumstances or otherwise.
